Mojo Monday Contest #143... PS. Vent Alert!!

Well, well, well... Where do I start?

Perhaps at 4.15 this morning when the smoke detector wakes us up? Yes, ya heard me! Had the pleasure(?) of waking up to a house filled with smoke, though no fire...
After 10 mins of searching every socket, nook and cranny of the house we discovered it was coming from the back of the freezer(!) It had decided after it's short time in our kitchen, it could go on no longer and had set itself on fire!

So 10 minutes, 2 fire engines, 16 firemen and a pair of fireproof gloves(Yes, that's all it took to put it out in the end!) later, after being VERY thankful to whoever was looking out for us (and the fully functioning smoke detectors), I was left to wondering what I was supposed to do with my stinky house full of acrid smoke, and a fridge and two freezers full of food!?

...rant over...

And now for a card...

It's been a while since i've entered a blog challenge, and i was desperately in need of distraction today so I sat down and had a play with my newly received Stampin' Up! stash. Loving these exclusive papers, such lovely colours and patterns that perfectly coordinate with the new cardstock and inks!

And now for some cards...

Hi everyone,

It's been a tough few weeks with everything that's gone on with us and am struggling to feel creative, motivated and able to execute what few creative thoughts that do come into my head on to paper. However, I have been greatly inspired by some cards from a few months back (December/January i thnk..!) by the fabulous PTI design team...

Dawn McVey

Gene Cassidy

and Michelle Wooderson

I hope you like, feedback is always appreciated! I hope I can get back to normality soon as all my darling supplies are still in their boxes from moving... maybe i'll go and rescue them tonight...

Take care

Something from almost Nothing!

Well, where do I begin...?

Since my last blog post so much has happened... I've suffered from a relapse of my M.E resulting in 3 weeks off work,(which I am still struggling to recover from)arranged to move house to another part of the country (We get the keys on Friday) and start a new job in amongst all the other challeges that present themselves on a daily basis!

But I'm determined to stay positive, see it as a fresh start full of new beginnings rather than the end of how things have previously been. Although any advice and input would be greatly appreciated. I still have a lot of ties to Bristol, the fabulous friends I've made, my crafty surrogate family who have looked after me over these last few months and the beauty and hilarity of the city itself... You shall all be missed, but I will be back! (Probably more than you wish!)

Anyway, now for the important news... :)
I am definately going to take part in this course as my scrapbooking and card making has fallen to the wayside (although my shopping hasn't) during these difficult few weeks. this seems like such a great opportunity and not having to do it alone really helps. Understandably it will be at a slightly delayed pace due to the move etc. so please bear with me?!

Thanks,

Kirsty

And finally... Some Cards!

I know, it's such a shock, I can still make cards! I was beginning to worry!

Here are a few that I made at Clare's house while we all caught up after our Xmas break. This is the first time that I've really put the Everyday Button Bits set from PTI to good use! I love this little hot air balloon stamp, especially living in Bristol, this will certainly come in handy during the summer months leading up to the Balloon Fiesta!

Have made use of this gorgeous spotty BoBunny paper and co-ordinating PTI cardstock & buttons.

Card No.2 is one of 2 fully stamped cards. Having only really taken an interest in stamping a few months ago, this is a real achievement for me! Will be interested to know what you think! Have used several PTI stamps(Thanks Clare :D)Stampin' Up and PTI inks and Cardstock.
Card includes: Fancy Flourishes, Text Style and Mega Mixed Messages, I've also used the butterfly and coin image from Amy Butlers set by K&Co, that I was given for Xmas.

Here's a little close up of my stamping, and also my embossed butterfly! I'm really proud of this.

This last card is also another fully stamped card. For this one i may have used up my monthly, maybe even my quarterly allowance of pink! :0} I've also used PTI's Fancy Flourishes, Polka Dots Basics and Damask Designs, cardstock and ink. I added a few pink gems to give the flourish a little extra jazz and topped it off with a Techniques Tuesday Sentiment by Ali Edwards.

Thanks for stopping by!
