And now for some cards...

Hi everyone,

It's been a tough few weeks with everything that's gone on with us and am struggling to feel creative, motivated and able to execute what few creative thoughts that do come into my head on to paper. However, I have been greatly inspired by some cards from a few months back (December/January i thnk..!) by the fabulous PTI design team...

Dawn McVey

Gene Cassidy

and Michelle Wooderson

I hope you like, feedback is always appreciated! I hope I can get back to normality soon as all my darling supplies are still in their boxes from moving... maybe i'll go and rescue them tonight...

Take care

Something from almost Nothing!

Well, where do I begin...?

Since my last blog post so much has happened... I've suffered from a relapse of my M.E resulting in 3 weeks off work,(which I am still struggling to recover from)arranged to move house to another part of the country (We get the keys on Friday) and start a new job in amongst all the other challeges that present themselves on a daily basis!

But I'm determined to stay positive, see it as a fresh start full of new beginnings rather than the end of how things have previously been. Although any advice and input would be greatly appreciated. I still have a lot of ties to Bristol, the fabulous friends I've made, my crafty surrogate family who have looked after me over these last few months and the beauty and hilarity of the city itself... You shall all be missed, but I will be back! (Probably more than you wish!)

Anyway, now for the important news... :)
I am definately going to take part in this course as my scrapbooking and card making has fallen to the wayside (although my shopping hasn't) during these difficult few weeks. this seems like such a great opportunity and not having to do it alone really helps. Understandably it will be at a slightly delayed pace due to the move etc. so please bear with me?!

Thanks,

Kirsty

And finally... Some Cards!

I know, it's such a shock, I can still make cards! I was beginning to worry!

Here are a few that I made at Clare's house while we all caught up after our Xmas break. This is the first time that I've really put the Everyday Button Bits set from PTI to good use! I love this little hot air balloon stamp, especially living in Bristol, this will certainly come in handy during the summer months leading up to the Balloon Fiesta!

Have made use of this gorgeous spotty BoBunny paper and co-ordinating PTI cardstock & buttons.

Card No.2 is one of 2 fully stamped cards. Having only really taken an interest in stamping a few months ago, this is a real achievement for me! Will be interested to know what you think! Have used several PTI stamps(Thanks Clare :D)Stampin' Up and PTI inks and Cardstock.
Card includes: Fancy Flourishes, Text Style and Mega Mixed Messages, I've also used the butterfly and coin image from Amy Butlers set by K&Co, that I was given for Xmas.

Here's a little close up of my stamping, and also my embossed butterfly! I'm really proud of this.

This last card is also another fully stamped card. For this one i may have used up my monthly, maybe even my quarterly allowance of pink! :0} I've also used PTI's Fancy Flourishes, Polka Dots Basics and Damask Designs, cardstock and ink. I added a few pink gems to give the flourish a little extra jazz and topped it off with a Techniques Tuesday Sentiment by Ali Edwards.

Thanks for stopping by!

How's this for inspiration?

Hi everyone,

I know it's been tooooooo long, but i just never seem to find the time make a real go of this, so any advise would be much appreciated!

Anyways... I've been splurging on new supplies to help inspire me, becasue until Wednedsay this week i had not done one crafty little thing since the week leading up to Christmas! Not a card, a layout or even a doodle on my notepad in work! But hopefully i'm now back in the groove, mainly due to these...

Cosmo Cricket's Early Bird range - So delicious I had to buy it in both 12x12 and 6x6!!! (Yum!)

and MME's Be Loved - The colours are not ones i'd normally go for but the patterns were gorgeous, however, they have really bowled me over seeing them in person! I'm certainly looking forward to getting into these!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend and I shall be back later with my Crafty achievements from the last week!

Aww Shucks... Thanks Clare!

Just want to say a BIG THANKS to Clare for the award she sent me! Twas just the boost I needed on such a TRULY rubbish (work related) day! So 'Thank you'!

So to keep the chain going, here are my 5 random facts...

1. I don't do Spoons - those who know me well understand, for those who don't feel free to ask, but it's a weird one.
2. I have no sense of smell... none whatsoever! It just stopped working when i was about 14!
3. Have had a weird connection to Jelly Tots since I was a child, they always made me feel happy! Still cannot go a Christmas without a large tube of them!
4. I cannot cope with food that 'pops' when you eat it... Tomatoes, peas, grapes etc. Bleurgh!
5. I'm a bit weird when I comes to hobbies, I collect them. I find something I like doing, totally immerse myself for varied periods of time and then never do them again. List of hobbies that have sadly bitten the dust include, Swimming, Photography, writing and attempting to grow plants.

Thankfully my passion for cardmaking and varoius other papercrafts is sticking around, and hopefully my skills will continue to develop. Especially with the constant inspiration that is circling blogland!

Awards I'd like to hand out are to

Nichole and the Girls @ Papertreyink, they provide me with great inspiration and amazing products which I love dearly

Clare, my new crafty friend! It's great to have you and your family around for inspiration and a good ol natter!

Liz @ Pink Petticoat, this was where my crfating obsession began. Liz designs some amazing printable cardmaking supplies that got my creative juices flowing originally!

All the guys and gals at Papertake weekly challenge, and Mojo Monday as layouts are the one thing that stumps me, so what better way to give you that creative boost you need than with these great sketches!

Christmas is around the corner...eeek!

I know it's been a LONG time since my last post, but I have been rushed off my feet between my full time job, creating a stock of cards for my very first Craft Fair, organising family days out and get-togethers between Bristol & Wales and the endless list of things we women do, my blog has sadly been neglected.
But... I am here today to inundate you with photos of my first batch of Christmas cards, which I sold 80% of during the Craft Fair.
So thank you to everyone who has supported and inspired me over the last few weeks (ladies, you know who you are!) and I would also like to 'Thank' in advance any of you delightful people I met in Keynsham on Sunday who purhcased my cards, complimented my designs and took my contact details.
It really meant a lot! So enough of my babbling and on to the cards...

This little set of cards was created using my newly purhcased Christmas Button Bits stamp set, cardstock and Buttons by PapertryInk. These ladies are truly outstanding! They all have such a flair for unique design and an eye for unbeatable quality! I shall certainly be purchasing more!!

This is one of may favourites and was inspired entirely by one of the amazingly talented PTI Design Team. This was also my very first attempt at embossing! So many Thanks to Clare for that! (Happy Claps all round!)

As you can all undoubtedly see, i have a bit of an addiction to Kraft as well at the moment, but it just blends so deliciously with the Christmas colours...!

So a quickie run-through for all the fatastic materials i've have the pleasure of using for these cards are...
Stamps: Christmas Button Bits - PTI
Cardstock: Pure Poppy, Scarlet Jewel, Ripe Advocado, Berry Sorbet - PTI & Kraft by Bazzil.
Buttons: Ripe Advocado, Pure Poppy, Scarlet Jewel, Berry Sorbet - PTI
Ribbons: Random bits from local fabric store.

If anyone have any comments, questions or suggestions, feel free to leave a comment.

First Christmas themed card of 2009...

Second Post of the night... Makes a change, as it's normally weeks apart!

Here is my first Christmas card of 2009! After seeing this week's sketches on 2 Sketches 4 You and especially Cheryl's Bonus Sketch I was inspired to break out my new Cosmo Cricket Jolly By Golly papers.

These papers are so sweet and teamed with this gorgeous little moggy from Wildrose Studio it creates a sweet simple Christmas Card!

Thanks for stopping by... x
